If you’re a Verizon customer, the latest iteration of its “Verizonphone Case” may have just landed in your mailbox.
The case has been a long-standing staple in Verizon’s stores and in the Verizon Store, the phone carrier’s online store.
According to a new report by TechCrunch, the case’s price has skyrocketed to more than $200, with some retailers offering it for a premium of more than a million dollars.
The device has a “Dope Phone Case” design that is made from polycarbonate and has a plastic cover, but you can also purchase a “POPULAR” version, which has a metallic finish.
While the POPULAR version is available for $120, the original version will run you about $220, the report said.
The Verizon phone case is currently available for pre-order at a number of retailers, including Best Buy, Best Buy and Walmart, the publication said.
TechCrunch notes that the phone case has “no official word yet” as to whether or not it will be made available in the U.S. or elsewhere.
The phone case’s design, however, may have a long history.
According a report by The Verge, Verizon launched its “Popular” phone case in 2011, with the POPULATEX design being a staple among the carrier’s loyal customers.
According the article, the POPLUX case has a transparent plastic front that makes it appear as if the phone has been on your desk all day, while also having a zipper-like opening to allow you to access the phone’s interior.
The POPULATE case has an overall look similar to the POPCY case, with a metallic matte finish that is available in a variety of colors.
Both of the Verizon phone cases are available for purchase for around $120.
Verizon said it’s aware of the issue, but is notifying customers that they will need to return their phones.
